Nestled on the stunning island of Brač, the Brač Jazz Workshop is a place where music lovers and aspiring jazz vocalists come together to explore, learn, and grow. Originally founded as the Pučišća Summer Music School over 30 years ago, our school has evolved to offer a diverse range of musical programs. In 2012, we launched our Vocal Jazz Program, bringing a fresh, dynamic focus to jazz and Brazilian music.

Now, we’re excited to invite you to join us for our Jazz & Latin Vocal Workshop in Bol, where you’ll experience 9 days of musical discovery in a relaxed, inspiring environment. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced vocalist, our expert mentors will guide you in mastering jazz techniques, improvisation, and Brazilian rhythms, all while surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Brač’s coastline.

About Maja Savić
With over 15 years of performance experience, Maja has been teaching voice for years, developing a holistic approach that blends various techniques. Now based in Paris, she regularly performs and teaches jazz and Brazilian music, focusing on empowering singers to embrace their individuality and gain confidence on stage.

Her teaching method integrates:

• The Body as an Instrument – Relaxation, breathwork & awareness techniques
• Vocalizing & Sounding – Traditional methods & improvisation
• Circle Songs & Musical Language Discovery – Expressive & creative techniques
• Jazz & Brazilian Music – Mastering phrasing, rhythm & style

Workshop Focus
Maja specializes in Jazz and Brazilian music, covering:

• Jazz & Blues Basics – Scales, phrasing & interpretation
• Swing vs. Latin Rhythms – Count-offs, grooves & feel
• Improvisation – Expressing yourself & connecting with musicians
• Brazilian Styles – Bossa nova & samba (rhythm, pronunciation, feel)
• Arranging & Finding Your Unique Style
• Band Communication & Jazz Lingo

What to Expect

• Work on 1-2 individual songs with an accompanist & trio
• Perform live at our final concert on September 5
• Prepare a group piece for the closing performance
• Optional extra performance opportunities
